Two projects in three weeks

In the rainy month of November, Kampin Laulu keeps warm and busy with two different projects. We'll start on 13.11. with Uri Caine's J.S. Bach from New York with Avanti! Chamber Orchestra and solists.

On 20.11. we'll participate in the 120 years jubileum concert of the St. John's church, together with John's Chamber Orchestra and Chamber Choir. Info (in Finnish) here.

Kari Turunen's first concert with Kampin Laulu Chamber Choir  - Song of Songs

Old Testament's classical and powerful Song of Songs has inspired our October concert with the new artistic director Kari Turunen. Five contemporary composers have given each a unique touch to these ancient yet modern texts.

Kari Turunen elected new artistic director

Kari Turunen will start as the choir's new artistic director in August 2011. (The press release is in Finnish only.) From November 2010 till then, the choir is conducted by vice-conductor Jonas Rannila.
