Kivi sydämellä

KLCD-005 / Kampin Laulu ry 2005
Aleksis Kivi (1834-72) was one of the first authors to write in Finnish.

Author of both prose and poetry, his text has a unique rhythm, and many idioms and words created by him are still in general use. This fact has spawned a fair amount of music composed to his lyrics. On this cd, you can observe the different musical forms in his texts, found by different composers during over a hundred years.

"Kivi sydämellä" might be freely translated as "Heart of Stone" (note: stone = kivi in Finnish)
